The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Game Add-Ons (DLC) Hints
How do I get started on this add-on?
1 of 6: First, make sure the add-on is active.
2 of 6: On the game's launcher menu, select "Data Files" and make sure there's a checkmark in the box to the left of Dawnguard.esm.
3 of 6: Click "OK," then run the game and load a save.
4 of 6: Anytime after your character reaches level 10, talk to any city guard to get the "Dawnguard" quest.
5 of 6: As an alternative, you can avoid contact with city guards while fast-traveling around from city to city until an orc named Durak shows up and talks to you. The advantage of getting the quest from him is that you can sneakily pickpocket his crossbow and steel bolts if your Pickpocket skill is high enough. That way you can have some early fun with the new crossbow weapon before starting on the quests.
6 of 6: If you want to start before you're level 10, you could go find the entrance to Dayspring Canyon on your own (if you know where it is). You'll get the quest when you approach Agmaer inside the canyon.
