The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Hints

Outdoor Nordic puzzle.

  • 1 of 7: Go a ways SE of Sleeping Tree Camp to find a group of stones that includes three rotatable Nordic-style puzzle pillars.
  • 2 of 7: Look on a bit of lower ground to find a large grating that's closed, then look just south of it for a pedestal with a handle on it.
  • 3 of 7: Using that handle will open the grating and allow you to access the treasure underneath it, but only after you set the three rotating pillars correctly.
  • 4 of 7: To figure out how each pillar needs to be set, look on or near the tall stone that's next to it for an animal carving.
  • 5 of 7: The carving will be inside the mouth of a carved head, and that'll either be on the tall stone or on the rubble pile next to it.
  • 6 of 7: Once you find the carving, you'll need to set the pillar so that its carving of the same animal is facing the pedestal with the handle on it.
  • 7 of 7: After all three pillars are set, use the handle, then check to see if the grating opened. If not, you'll need to check your pillar settings.
