How can I get the first quest?
1 of 4: Talk to Skjor, Farkas, or Aela the Huntress in Jorrvaskr and ask if you can join the Companions. You'll be referred to someone named Kodlak.
2 of 4: Go to the south side of the entry hall to find some steps leading down to a door to the Jorrvaskr Living Quarters area.
3 of 4: Go to the living quarters' north room to find Kodlak Whitemane seated at a small table with Vilkas.
4 of 4: Talk to Kodlak and ask if you can join the Companions. After he has a brief word with Vilkas and talks to you again, you'll get the "Take Up Arms" quest.
