The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Hints
Defeat Vals Veran.
1 of 11: Wait for Golldir to enter the tomb, then follow him in.
2 of 11: Go through the first room, then fight a couple of draugr in the passage past it.
3 of 11: Go through the iron door near the end of the passage to find two more draugr, then wait as Golldir finds his dead aunt and tries to open a large iron door.
4 of 11: Go through the wooden door that's to the right of the iron one, ready to fight a couple of draugr that rise from their burial niches.
5 of 11: Past another wooden door is a crypt passage with several draugr that will "wake up" and attack you all at once. Be sure to stay back and let Golldir take the brunt of the assault.
6 of 11: Past those draugr, watch for a dart trap's pressure plate, followed by a wall-niche draugr and a large frostbite spider. Not far past the spider is another area where several draugr will get up and attack all at once.
7 of 11: Past the secret door, kill the draugr that's sitting on a throne, then move on to find the large iron doors that lead to the chamber where Vals Veran is fooling around.
8 of 11: Crouch down after you open the doors, then look for Veran on the other side of the room, up on a higher floor. Shoot him with a sneaky arrow or ranged spell, then stay there and fire at the draugr that he animates to help him.
9 of 11: Stay in the doorway and sneak-shoot any enemy that you can see while Golldir charges in and fights them, being careful not to hit Golldir. At some point, some draugr may make it to your position, at which time you should retreat while fighting them with your best melee weapon.
10 of 11: Note that Veran can teleport himself around every now and then, and he can raise dead draugr to fight for him some more. Also note that one of the last draugr to join the fight will be a powerful overlord.
11 of 11: After Veran is killed, you'll get the "Speak with Golldir" objective.
