Contract Quests

  • These little mini-quests are all given to you by Nazir, starting when you talk to him during the "Sanctuary" main-line quest. Your goal for these quests is always to kill the target and return to Nazir, preferably without getting a bounty. Use stealth, strong poisons, Invisibility potions or spells, and sneak attacks to help with that. Check the World Map Exploration Guide if you need help finding some of the more out-of-the-way victims.

    These first three contracts are available the first time you talk to Nazir.

    * Kill Narfi => Find Narfi in a ruined house near Ivarstead and sneak-attack him. (Note that you might want to do the "Ask Wilhelm about Reyda" miscellaneous quest first.)
    * Kill Beitild => Travel to Dawnstar, then follow the quest arrow to find Beitild. Talk to her and tell her you're from the Dark Brotherhood to get her to attack you, which allows you to kill her openly without getting a bounty.
    * Kill Ennodius Papius => Travel to Anga's Mill, then follow the quest arrow to find Ennodius at his little camp. He's alone, so sneak-attack him for an easy kill.

    The next two contracts aren't available until you finish the first three and the "Whispers in the Dark" main-line quest.

    * Kill Lurbuk => Find Lurbuk in Morthal's inn, then wait until he's alone in a side room to sneak-attack him.
    * Kill Hern => Hern is a vampire, so find him at Half-Moon Mill sometime during the day. Try to kill him when he's not near his wife to avoid combat with her.

    The next three contracts will become available after you finish the previous two, plus the first two objectives of the "The Silence Has Been Broken" main-line quest.

    * Kill Deekus => He's all alone at a small camp near Hela's Folly, so you can fight him openly.
    * Kill Ma'randru-jo => Track down Ri'saad's caravan using the quest arrow, then tell Ma'randru-jo that you'll beat him like a house cat to get him to attack you.
    * Kill Anoriath => Go to Whiterun and follow the quest arrow to Anoriath. Talk to him and say he's your prey to get him to attack you.

    This next contract will be available as soon as you finish the three previous ones.

    * Kill Agnis => Go to Fort Greymoor and kill the outdoor bandits, then enter the main fort area. Follow the quest arrow to Agnis, ready to fight more bandits on the way.

    The next two contracts will be available right after you finish the previous one.

    * Kill Maluril => Go to Mzinchaleft and kill off the outdoor bandits on your way to the entry door, then kill more bandits as you make your way along inside. When you reach a large locked door guarded by a bandit, kill him and get the key from him, then open the door to find Maluril. He won't be hostile, so you can easily sneak-attack him.
    * Kill Helvard => Go to Falkreath and find Helvard in the Jarl's Longhouse. Tell him that the Dark Brotherhood has come to provoke him into attacking you.

    The final contract will be available after you finish the previous two.

    * Kill Safia => Go to the East Empire Company Warehouse area, then board the largest ship that's docked nearby. Inside the ship, follow the quest arrow to find Safia, then talk to her to get her to attack.
