The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Hints
What's the best way to defeat this centurion?
1 of 7: If you're very sneaky, you could sneak-attack it with your bow, retreat a bit so it doesn't see you, and then repeat until it's dead.
2 of 7: If you don't want to fight it, you could lure it across the bridge, then enter the pool and move to its back left or right corner. After the centurion starts down the side of the pool after you, quickly leave the pool and sprint across the bridge to leave it behind.
3 of 7: Or you can have some fun with the centurion by luring it onto the bridge segment, then pressing the button to raise the segment before it gets past it. That may throw it way up onto the structure above the bridge, or it may drop it down into the pool. In either case, you can probably relower the bridge segment and cross the bridge safely.
4 of 7: Otherwise, let the centurion see you, then lead it back to the lowered spear gate.
5 of 7: Before it can get past the gate, sprint over to the button pedestal set and press the second button from the right to raise the gate again.
6 of 7: You can then attack the centurion through the gate without it being able to get to you, though you'll need to dodge around the corner whenever it tries to blast you with its hot steam.
7 of 7: As an alternative, you could let it follow you past the spear gate, then keep going until it gets stuck somewhere.
