Tales of Monkey Island Hints
What use is a blank map?
1 of 4: This isn't a Nancy Drew game; you're not going to need to find a candle to make the lemon juice appear. This is more like a game from the golden days of adventure games and copy protection.
2 of 4: Talk to Hemlock McGee, the guy who gave the map to the Voodoo Lady in the first place. You'll find him sitting on the courthouse steps.
3 of 4: Ask him about the map, and he'll reveal that you need the Eye of the Manatee to read it -- what do you know, an old-fashioned red cellophane reader. Tell Hemlock ... well, whatever you like, and he'll give you the Eye.
4 of 4: Combine the map and the Eye in your inventory to read the map, which from now on is identified as "Hemlock's map" in inventory.
