Tales of Monkey Island Hints
Strange Idol
1 of 6: This idol has more serious problems than the Enigmatic Idol; it's missing the entire eye wheel. We're going to have to replace it. Do you have anything in your inventory that's basically the right shape?
2 of 6: You do if you picked up the cheese wheel that was on the deck of the Screaming Narwhal. Now all we need to do is fill in the eye patterns.
3 of 6: There's something architectural in town that has the right look, if you bothered to notice it.
4 of 6: Go back to town and look at the strange carvings under the jail windows (on the right side of the courthouse). That's a row of idol eyes if I ever saw one.
5 of 6: Use the cheese wheel on the jail carvings, then use it on the Strange Idol to fill in for the missing eye piece.
6 of 6: You can now do the usual -- insert the weather vane, turn the face bits correctly, and use the ancient tool in the clamshell. This shuts off the Wind That Makes You Reconsider Wearing Shorts.
