Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure Hints
I'm past the bees. Now what?
1 of 9: The panel that turns on the auxiliary power is at the right. Read to the end of this hint for a step-by-step to getting it turned on.
2 of 9: The controls do two things: the up and down buttons (on the left) cycle the column of lights, and the left and right buttons (on the right) change the color of the light on the bottom.
3 of 9: It's also important to note that the down and right buttons affect only the right column of lights, and the up and left buttons affect only the left column.
4 of 9: The first thing you need to do is figure out what colors should be on each light to make the system happy. Click on the up and down lights and notice when each light gets a green signal on the right, then write that down. The pattern you're looking for is --
5 of 9: Now to get the lights right. If you look at the right column of lights, you see that the lights are in the right order, but the wrong places; all you have to is move them into the right places. To do that, click on the down button 4 times. (That's the down button on the screen. If you press the down button on your actual keyboard, you just back away from the puzzle.)
6 of 9: As for the left column, if you go by the one green light, all the rest of them are right except for two. So click on the up button till the light you want to change is at the bottom, then click on the left button to change it to the correct color.
7 of 9: Confused? Yes, me too. Here's the sequence to push (when you start with the default):
8 of 9: Down x4 -- up -- left -- up x3 -- left x2 -- up x5
9 of 9: To get back out past the bees, just walk through ... but do be careful not to step on a bee or it'll wake up and be irritated. When you're back out in the atrium, go downstairs to the third floor and return to Communication.
