How can I win the bird back for the old man?

  • 1 of 10: First, it's probably a very good idea to wait until the old man asks you to win his bird back for him before you try solving this puzzle.  You can start the puzzle whenever you'd like, but you won't be able to finish it until you've gotten to that point in the story.
  • 2 of 10: You've got to have some money to play the game.
  • 3 of 10: Win the game by using something that can show you where the money is.
  • 4 of 10: Remember, the money is made of metal.
  • 5 of 10: Do you have anything magnetic in your inventory?
  • 6 of 10: Use the screwdriver with the cups after you've put the money on the table.
  • 7 of 10: Now you can't play the game any more, because the man thinks/knows you cheated.  Hence, you can't play the game three times and win a prize.  But there is a way to get the bird.
  • 8 of 10: Maybe you could trade with him.
  • 9 of 10: He's probably interested in how you managed to beat him.
  • 10 of 10: Give him the screwdriver.  However, you can't trade with him until you know that you need to try to win the bird.  If you don't know this yet, then go back and talk to people and do some more reading.  Again, this link will tell you how to get to that point.
