What should I do in the area behind the far western gate?
1 of 3: You'll need to start by jumping across a set of pits until you reach the end of the hallway past that gate. Once you get to the end of the hallway, this area will serve two important purposes.
2 of 3: Use it first to find a way to open the other nearby gates.
3 of 3: Then, once you've visited all of the other areas (except for the "penalty area" behind the gate to the northeast, if you'd prefer to skip it), you can use this area to head to the exit to the next level.
