How can I cure my swamp fever?

  • 1 of 13: You'll have to brew up a cure and then take it.
  • 2 of 13: In order to know how to brew a cure, you're going to need some help.
  • 3 of 13: Pepita is the only one who can help you, so you'll need to rescue her from the mine shaft.
  • 4 of 13: After she gets away, head back south to the path.
  • 5 of 13: You'll find that there's now a rope ladder and a page on the fence next to the path.
  • 6 of 13: Click on the page for a close-up, then point the cursor at the text beneath the picture.
  • 7 of 13: It speaks of shrubs called Cinchona which are prepared in a herbal tea.
  • 8 of 13: You already know how to heat things up from when you extracted salt from seawater, so you just need to find out where to get some Cinchona.
  • 9 of 13: Now heat up some water the same way you did the seawater earlier.
  • 10 of 13: Of course, you won't want seawater this time, since you're making something that'll need to be drunk.
  • 11 of 13: In your fever-weakened state, you can't get back up the rope near the buried chest, so you can't return to your trusty Skull Rock fire.
  • 12 of 13: Use your helmet of fresh water on the fire to get a helmet of boiling water.
  • 13 of 13: Add the heart-shaped piece of bark to the boiling water to create the cure, which Jim will automatically drink.
