Destination: Treasure Island Hints

After the pirates are defeated, how can I get Pepita's chains off?

  • 1 of 17: Morgan hints that there's a double of the key "someplace."
  • 2 of 17: You'll need to convince him to tell you where the key is.
  • 3 of 17: It turns out that the pirate who's hanging around the Hollow Head area has the key you need.
  • 4 of 17: Travel to Hollow Head to find that the pirate is standing around near the head.
  • 5 of 17: Your pistol is wrecked, so you'll have to figure out another way of dealing with this pirate.
  • 6 of 17: Do you remember what happened when you first went near the hollow head statue?
  • 7 of 17: You were scared off by a loud noise coming from inside the head.
  • 8 of 17: Maybe you could do the same thing to this pirate.
  • 9 of 17: Unfortunately, just scaring the pirate will end up getting you killed, since he calms down after running away and then comes in after you.
  • 10 of 17: But notice that before he calmed down, he ran all the way to the south end of Snare Valley.
  • 11 of 17: Do you remember why it's called Snare Valley?
  • 12 of 17: That's right, the trap! You need to get the trap reset before you scare the pirate.
  • 13 of 17: After the trap is set, go do the megaphone-mouth thing to get the pirate ensnared.
  • 14 of 17: As he's slowly swinging in the trap, scan him carefully with the cursor until you get the "take" cursor.
  • 15 of 17: Click there to get the key you need.
  • 16 of 17: Travel back to the waterfall area, then return to the room where Pepita is. (Note that you can use the main entrance on the landing now.)
  • 17 of 17: Get the key from inventory and use it on the padlock that's next to Pepita's cuffs in order to free her.
