The Elder Scrolls III: Tribunal Hints
Muckraking Journalist
of 12: After you've taken care of the Evidence of Conspiracy quest, Tienius will ask you to persuade the publisher of the Common Tongue to stop printing lies about Helseth.
of 12: Most people in Mournhold won't want to tell you where the Common Tongue is printed, but they may at least suggest someone else who will talk.
of 12: Keep asking people on the street, and someone will eventually suggest that you find either a disreputable pawnbroker or a bookseller.
of 12: The bookseller won't be of much help, but a seedy pawnbroker might, if you're nice enough.
of 12: Get Ten-Tongue Weerhat's disposition up around 100, and he'll eventually squeal on Trels Varis, who is located in Craftsmen's Hall.
of 12: You don't think Trels is going to advertise his offices for something as controversial as the Common Tongue, do you?
of 12: His office is behind a locked door marked "Keep Out". Pick open the door or use an Open spell, and then go down into the basement to pay Trels a visit.
of 12: If you really want to, you can always kill him, but there are other ways to persuade him to stop as well.
of 12: I found giving him 3,000 in gold (supposedly for the widows and orphans fund) was the most straightforward way to get him to stop.
of 12: Report back to Tienius. How you respond may affect the reward you receive.
of 12: If you gave 3,000 to Trels, just say that it was "A small sacrifice in the service of my king," and you'll get your money back plus the very nice long blade King's Oath, which is a fairly strong weapon that has damage health, paralyze, and fire damage effects as well.
of 12: Threatening his parents (the alternate solution listed in the sub-question above) will also get you the blade plus a little spare cash.
