Ultima IX: Ascension Hints
Red Floor Room
1 of 7: Don't step on any of the floor tiles that are red. If you do, you'll end up in the previous room, where multiple fireballs will shoot at you. Begin with a jump into the room and land upon any non-red tile.
2 of 7: Lessen the number of red tiles by shooting an arrow at the target on the far wall. Now look around.
3 of 7: There is a force field blocking the doorway into the next room. If the watcher sees you walk up to that door, the force field will stay on.
4 of 7: The watcher's eye can be closed temporarily (and the force field turned off) by pushing a button on the wall behind the target to the northeast. Once you press that button, though, you must make a beeline to the door before the eye opens again.
5 of 7: The challenge is to run and jump (on white tiles only) to the button and then back to the door. The difficult part is that some of the red tiles are moving!
6 of 7: After you have hit the target, walk across to the southern part of the room on white tiles. Time your jump across the moving red blocks and run to the corner button.
7 of 7: Again, time the pressing of the button to the movement of the red tiles. Then rush over to the doorway, where the force field should be gone, and into a room with a Circle of Switches.
