Ultima IX: Ascension Hints
I'm having trouble killing Demons!
1 of 7: Demons are really tough and the Hellhounds they call forth compound the problem. Some of them seem to be completely invincible.
2 of 7: Those that can be defeated will eventually succumb to the force of your Blackrock Sword or the excellent Frost Sword if you have one. Casting a 4th Circle -- Freeze Spell also works well.
3 of 7: For those that simply will not fall, it may be best to avoid them instead. They don't wander far from their original location. Simply run past them if you can.
4 of 7: Did you notice that they materialize out of nowhere the minute you walk into their area?
5 of 7: They will only appear if they can see you!
6 of 7: If you are invisible, you can explore without worrying about them.
7 of 7: Drink a Black Potion or cast an Invisibility Spell. Just remember that the effect is not permanent, so get out of there as quickly as possible.
