Uplink Hints

What can I do with it?

  • 1 of 10: Plenty. If you've read all the hints in this section, you'll know this:
  • 2 of 10: When you type 'delete', you'll remove all the files in your current directory.
  • 3 of 10: You have access to three directories: 'usr', 'log' and 'sys'.
  • 4 of 10: Thus, you can clear these directly and easily from the console.
  • 5 of 10: In the early game, you might have problems with Passive tracking.
  • 6 of 10: Simply access the console of one of your bounce systems and clear the 'log' directory.
  • 7 of 10: Also, the use of the Console is one (of two possible) ways of destroying a system.
  • 8 of 10: Simply wipe out 'usr' and 'sys' (in this order) and 'shutdown'. You can also clear 'log' if you wish.
  • 9 of 10: Shutting down the system
    System shut down complete
    Rebooting
    Loading Kernel
    (Failed)
System failure -- disconnecting remote users.
  • 10 of 10: Ahh, the glow of a job well done.
