Voyage Hints

Ardan dies trying to leap the crevasse.

  • 1 of 9: The capsule that brought Ardan to the moon is on the edge of a crevasse, with very little to do in this location.  Fortunately, with the significantly lower moon gravity, Ardan can leap much farther than on earth, in an attempt to reach the plateau on the far side (and points beyond).  However, each leap requires careful timing.  If his jump is unsuccessful, he will die.  (The good news is that the game returns to the point just before the fatal jump, providing a "do-over".)
  • 2 of 9: Gauging Ardan's jump is done using the meter that comes up on the upper right-hand side of the screen, whenever you are at a point from which Ardan can jump -- and the cursor is over a valid "landing point".
  • 3 of 9: The only "take-off" points are at various edges of the crevasse.  Initially, this is just a step "downhill" from where Ardan exits the capsule.
  • 4 of 9: From this point, there is more than one destination to which Ardan can jump.  When you are at the edge of the crevasse, looking toward the plateau with colorful plants, move the cursor around the screen, searching for these valid destinations.
  • 5 of 9: As soon as you target one, the meter that comes up will help you gauge the jump.  As the arrow along the left side continues its up-and-down cycle, your objective is to click the left mouse button when the arrow is within the green section of the meter.
  • 6 of 9: Too high, or too low, and Ardan will fall to his death.
  • 7 of 9: As you practice jumping, try to anticipate the movement of the arrow.  It is quite uniform, and allows you to plan ahead before clicking.
  • 8 of 9: If the green area is near the top or the bottom, it is usually easier to catch it on the longer approach (rather than on the "bounce-back").
  • 9 of 9: Clicking in the green area causes Ardan to jump to the target point.
