What is the device at the bottom of the stairs?
1 of 8: It almost looks like some kind of scale, or something similar.
2 of 8: You'll be able to get more information on this scale after you have talked with one of the aliens that you will encounter later (if you haven't already).
3 of 8: There are active buttons across the top, however Ardan says that they are "stuck", and need "some grease or oil".
4 of 8: Apply some of the grease-like substance to the parts of the scale that are "stuck". You can now move the pointer by clicking on the various red buttons.
5 of 8: What happens when you click the buttons?
6 of 8: The bone-like indicator at the top will move such that its right-most point will align with the red button that you pressed.
7 of 8: So each button appears to be a "set" button of some kind.
8 of 8: Experiment with the various settings to see what happens at each of them.
