Voyage Hints

Any hints to make it easier?

  • 1 of 12: This is purely an "arcade-style" puzzle -- requiring careful eyesight, quick mouse movement, and a fast trigger-finger.  But here's one or two things that might make it a tiny bit easier.
  • 2 of 12: The mushrooms fall randomly -- but from only a few positions.  That is, the places from which they fall are fairly well-defined; but the order in which they fall is not.
  • 3 of 12: If a mushroom hits the floor, it will explode.
  • 4 of 12: Even though you might be able to see a mushroom "getting ready to fall", it cannot be caught until it is in mid-air (and before it hits the floor, and explodes).  This is typically considerably less than 1 second.
  • 5 of 12: You may find that trying to catch every falling mushroom will drive you crazy, as you send your cursor all over the screen.  It may be better to focus on one or two spots where the mushrooms fall, and just ignore the others.  There is no penalty for missing a falling mushroom.  (And there will always be more!)
  • 6 of 12: Pick one of the spots where you feel that you can see the mushroom falling most clearly.
  • 7 of 12: Also, try to pick one of the ones that falls from the highest level (only because that provides a fraction of a second more time in which to catch it, before it hits the floor).
  • 8 of 12: You might even want to just stand still and position the mouse cursor beneath one, and only one, source of falling mushrooms.  That way, you won't be distracted by the others, or be trying to move the cursor wildly around the whole screen.
  • 9 of 12: Once you've managed to reduce your mouse movement, it's a matter of timing the "catch" -- that is, clicking exactly when the icon shows "active".
  • 10 of 12: Depending on your level of dexterity, you may find that going for a "single click" works the best.  I.e., you may try to time it for exactly when the falling mushroom intersects with the pointing-hand cursor, click at that exact point.
  • 11 of 12: Or you may choose the "click as fast as I can" approach -- which basically works on the basis of probabilities (i.e., the more times I click while the mushroom is on its way down, the more likely that one of those clicks will be exactly when the mushroom intersects with the cursor, and is "active").
  • 12 of 12: Whichever method you use, you may be fortunate and catch a mushroom on the first or second try; or it may take a lot longer.  But sooner or later, you should be able to get the timing to the point where you will "catch" a falling mushroom, and it will be added to your inventory.
