Voyage Hints
How can I use the machine to make something, if the machine is broken?
of 18: There are two different kinds of "broken", in terms of the Purifier when you first encounter it.
of 18: The first is the parts that are missing, and need to be replaced. The machine simply cannot operate without these parts.
of 18: The second is the stuck valves. These are not required to be unstuck for the machine to operate. However, if they remain stuck closed, the machine will overheat every time you try to use it.
of 18: So one of the first things you will want to make with the Purifier machine is some kind of grease.
of 18: But for this first run, since the valves are still stuck, you will need to operate them manually.
of 18: That is, you can begin to use the machine to create your formula, but as any valve begins to overheat, you'll need to temporarily "lift" it open to release the pressure in that valve.
of 18: You'll need to be quick -- and nimble, as well -- once the machine starts up, and begins to heat up.
of 18: The valves overheat in a random order.
of 18: As soon as you place the necessary item into the hopper of the machine -- based on the formula you are using (which, in the case of the "grease" formula, is a purple/red compote) -- and it begins to run, scroll the screen so that it gives you the best view of all four valves at once.
of 18: Quickly go to your inventory and select the mechanical arm. (It would be a good idea to have the mechanical arm in a place you can quickly locate when you get to the inventory.) You won't have much time on this.
of 18: With the mechanical arm "in hand", watch for any of the four valves to turn red, just prior to overheating.
of 18: Using the repaired mechanical arm, quickly click on the cap of an overheating valve.
of 18: Then continue to watch for the next valve to overheat, and click the arm on that valve.
of 18: Continue the process until the machine finishes its cycle, and produces the result of the purification process.
of 18: Take the resultant compound from the hopper of the machine (bottom center, where you initially inserted the material to be "purified").
of 18: Finish creating the grease (according to the formula).
