The Watchmaker Hints

I've just started the game. What should I do?

  • 1 of 12: NOTE: This section is intended to help anyone who is searching for some purpose or direction at the beginning of the game.  It may include some spoilers, so only proceed if you're really having trouble figuring out where to start.
  • 2 of 12: Since you're presented with most of the castle right at the beginning of the game, you should take this time to get acquainted with it.
  • 3 of 12: Open anything (doors, cabinets, etc.) and pick up anything you come across.
  • 4 of 12: Talk to everyone, and listen to everything they have to say.  This will hopefully give you some sort of direction in the game.
  • 5 of 12: There are several tasks you should complete to get underway.  First, go stand near the greenhouse.  You should see a brief cut-scene of it exploding. You're going to want to investigate this explosion.
  • 6 of 12: Notice the location of Raul's house.
  • 7 of 12: Pay particular attention to the faucets.  One of them is hot.  Perhaps if you got into Raul's house, you could figure out what caused the faucet to heat up.
  • 8 of 12: Next, go to the pool.  Be sure to talk to Jude, the supervisor's wife.
  • 9 of 12: Ask her about Carla, the maid.  This will open up a new dialogue choice, "Carla's private life."
  • 10 of 12: Ask Jude about Carla's private life (you need to be Victoria to do this).
  • 11 of 12: Also as Victoria, check out the shiny object on the bottom of the pool.
  • 12 of 12: Finally, try and open the door to the Old Wing of the castle, near Jude.  The housekeeper won't let you, but you triggered an important step in the plot (and, more importantly, advanced the game clock).  Don't worry, you'll be able to get back in here later.
