The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Hints
Find a sample of the kayran's mucus in its lair.
1 of 8: Climb back down the ladders to reach the ground, then go a short way south to get on a path.
2 of 8: TIP: If you haven't gotten a new silver sword by finishing the "A Sword for Monsters" quest yet, do so now.
3 of 8: Go SE along the path, then start along the upsloping NE path branch when you reach it. (Check the area map if you're having a hard time seeing the paths.)
4 of 8: Keep following the path until you catch up to Triss, watching for two small bandit camps along the way.
5 of 8: Follow Triss along, jumping down small drop-offs as you come to them, until she stops.
6 of 8: Jump down the drop-off near her to get a brief cut-scene, then follow Triss a bit farther to get attacked by several drowner creatures at once. Try to stay on the fringe of combat to keep too many drowners from attacking you at the same time.
7 of 8: After it's over, go to the east side of the area, where several large tree roots are exposed.
8 of 8: Move around the roots until you can click to gather a mucus sample from one of the big globs.
