The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Hints
Defeat the ballista's defenders and prepare to launch a bolt.
1 of 9: Go back north and look near the dead enemy soldiers for small sacks that you can loot (this is something you'll need to remember to do from now on), then head south and down the stairs.
2 of 9: Turn left past the bottom of the stairs to find a spot where you can go up to the edge of the wall and click to jump down.
3 of 9: After landing on a wooden walkway, go down to its lower end and click to jump down to the ground.
4 of 9: Quickly draw one of your swords, since you're about to be attacked by three of the La Valettes' knights. (Note that your steel sword is usually better than your silver sword when fighting human opponents.)
5 of 9: After those three are dealt with, you can optionally check out the SE part of the area for a few more, including some up the stairs.
6 of 9: Go north to reach the ballista, which is guarded by more knights, including some with crossbows. Try to dodge the swordsmen as you run around and finish off the archers.
7 of 9: After they're all dead, you'll need to cock the ballista.
8 of 9: After you successfully cock the ballista, you'll have to fight several more knights, then aim the ballista.
9 of 9: The aiming works just like the cocking except that it may be a bit harder to click fast enough to fill up the progress bar before you run out of time. (If clicking super-fast doesn't seem to work, try clicking in a fast rhythm.)
