The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Hints
In the Claws of Madness
1 of 9: To get this quest, find Cedric in the village of Lobinden (he's usually on an upper walkway near the south end) and ask him about witchers' work.
2 of 9: Now you need to find the old hospital ruins that he told you about.
3 of 9: After you talk to Rupert briefly, several nekkers will attack. Finish them off, then watch for traps as you head to the south part of the ruins, where more nekkers are fighting a dog.
4 of 9: You can't save the dog, so just kill the nekkers. After doing so, head down the nearby stairs to enter the ruins' underground area, where you need to find Rupert's friend.
6 of 9: Take the medicine and talk to Gridley again to learn why he and Rupert are there.
7 of 9: After he runs off, the fire to the north will go out, allowing you to go past it and catch up to the Nilfgaardian specter in the room to the left.
8 of 9: After talking to the specter, go back the way you came to find Gridley in the room you jumped down to (and fought two wraiths in) earlier.
9 of 9: Talk to him to be taken outside, then decide whether or not to turn him and Rupert over to the angry specter.
