Z'ant has accused me of spying for the Umpani! What should I do?
1 of 4: If Z'ant has accused your party of spying, it's because your party has been observed working for the Umpani. You didn't expect to get away with that, did you?
2 of 4: Should you choose to enlist with the IUF while simultaneously working for the T'rang, there is a chance that Z'ant will discover your duplicity each time you talk to him. Once he exposes you, your faction rating with the T'rang will change to Hostile, and there is no way to patch things back up. The best way to avoid this situation is to work for only one faction at a time. However, there are some ways to minimize the probability of being found out. Click here for some advice.
3 of 4: Because there is a chance that your party will be accused by Z'ant each time they talk to him, it makes sense to engage him in conversation only when necessary to fulfill a quest. Try saving your game before talking to him, and reload if he accuses your party of spying. Sometimes he will not repeat his accusations after reloading the game.
In some cases, it is too late to save the situation by reloading. In these instances, you'll simply have to live with the consequences of your actions, or cheat.
4 of 4: This tactic is definitely a cheat, but it works. If you cannot talk to Z'ant without being accused of spying, there is an alternate way to initiate conversation with him. You need to "use" a quest item on him by removing it from your inventory and clicking it on his body. Any item that is required for a T'rang quest will work, namely the Head of Raven Rapax (for the second T'rang quest) or the Chaos Moliri (for any subsequent quests). Additionally, should you choose to complete the alliance mission, you will receive a letter from General Yamir which can be clicked on Z'ant in the same way.
Note that it is impossible to complete the final T'rang quest of sabotaging the Umpani flight deck using this trick. Z'ant will speak with your party peacefully, but will not acknowledge the quest as completed.
