Alone in the Dark 4: The New Nightmare Hints
How do I fix the perforator?
of 14: Look at the blueprints on the table next to the device.
of 14: They basically tell you what to do. It's sometimes a little hard to tell what's going on, because you can't read the writing, but between what you can figure out from the pictures and just general trial and error, you should be able to put the pieces together. (The game will refuse to combine objects in the wrong order, so you can't mess anything up.) Read ahead if you want me to walk you through the steps.
of 14: On page 1, it looks as if you need to make some kind of weapon-like device.
of 14: Look around the workshop for those parts.
of 14: Most of them are on a table in there. Pick up the three pieces. Then, combine the stock (or butt) with the accelerator and next combine the resulting object with the barrel. You'll now have a photoelectric pulsar.
of 14: Now, onto the next page. It looks like you need to split the tripod, giving you a "tripod support" and a "metallic half ring."
of 14: And from there, you need to add some kind of barrel to the front of the plain tripod.
of 14: Read the third page.
of 14: It appears the machine on the bottom floor of the workshop will produce your barrel for you. Make the perforator barrel, and then add it to the tripod support. (Note that you'll have a "barrel" from the table and a "perforator barrel" from the machine -- these are not the same item.)
of 14: You'll find the other half of the metal ring near the northern door of the planetarium. Just pick it up and combine it with the half you already have to make a whole ring. The stone comes from solving a puzzle outside.
of 14: When you have the luminescent stone from that puzzle, combine it with the whole metal ring, then put the ring + stone in the "perforator without energy stone." You've now repaired the perforator.
