And Then There Were None Hints

Was there any way I could have known whodunit?

  • 1 of 6: There were a few slim hints that way, yes.
  • 2 of 6: For one thing, there was the comparison between Vera's makeup bag and Miss Brent's. Would you have thought Miss Brent was the type of person who'd have huge amounts of makeup with her for a weekend visit?
  • 3 of 6: Secondly, there was the location of the bottle of Bellman's Universal Embrocation. It looked as if it had been tossed there in haste by someone who had been visiting the beehives -- and remember, it causes a nasty rash.
  • 4 of 6: Thirdly, if you thought to look for fingerprints on the base of the sailorboys centerpiece, you found a fingerprint that looks something like the one you got from Miss Brent's makeup case.
  • 5 of 6: And finally, there's those cryptic words on the wall behind the screen in the screening room. But you don't find out what that's referring to until the villain tells you.
  • 6 of 6: In fact, all of those are the kind of clues that only seem significant after you know who the villain is. I didn't guess who it was myself, anyway.
