Aura: Fate of the Ages Hints

Inside: How do I work the machine upstairs?

  • 1 of 18: You won't be able to do much of anything until you've restored power to the machine.
  • 2 of 18: Don't bother looking for an extension cord -- a battery-type of power source will do.
  • 3 of 18: Remember, it won't necessarily look like a battery (at least not any kind you're already familiar with).  In fact, in the game it isn't even called a battery -- it's called a charger.
  • 4 of 18: Look around the base of the machine to find an opening.  The charger will need to be dropped into the opening to restore power.
  • 5 of 18: Before you'll be able to do more with this machine, you'll need to solve another puzzle in this room.
  • 6 of 18: The puzzle involves correctly setting the three dials on the walls.
  • 7 of 18: The dome-shape needs another object before it will work.
  • 8 of 18: In order to obtain the necessary object, you'll need to solve a puzzle outside the house.
  • 9 of 18: The puzzle in question is the one with the four pillars and four stands.
  • 10 of 18: When you've correctly solved the pillars and stands puzzle, you should have a navigational map.  The map fits just under the dome-shaped object.
  • 11 of 18: There is more to do with this machine, but you won't be able to progress until you've worked on a couple of puzzles outside.
  • 12 of 18: Once you've solved both puzzles with the machines outdoors, head back inside to work on the machine upstairs.  The second machine outdoors (the one to the left of the path) provides a valuable clue to what to do next.
  • 13 of 18: If you haven't already, make sure that one corner of the triangle is pointing to the "S"; then make careful note of which three symbols the three corners of the triangle are pointing to.
  • 14 of 18: You'll have to find the same three symbols on the base of the machine.
  • 15 of 18: Look closely at the column of three symbols on the base of the machine.  Each of the symbols can be rotated (left or right) to a new symbol by pressing on either the left or the right side of the symbols.  The only catch is that two symbols always change at the same time.
  • 16 of 18: It is helpful to rotate the symbols, one at a time, and watch what happens to the other symbols.
  • 17 of 18: There are only four symbols in each position, for a total of twelve symbols.  It is fairly easy to draw out the twelve symbols on a piece of paper.  Look for the solution on the paper first -- it is actually pretty easy when you see all the symbols drawn out -- then enter it only the machine upstairs.
  • 18 of 18: Once the three symbols are correctly entered, the dome will lower over the machine and the navigational map.  When done, the navigational map will be activated.
