1 of 5: If you haven't had your dog companion mark Lothering's landmark tree or fetch you some items yet, now's a good time to do so.
2 of 5: Use the toxin extracts you got from the giant spiders to finish the "A Poisonous Proposition" quest if you haven't already.
3 of 5: Go back to the Chanter's Board and talk to Chanter Devons to get your reward for wiping out the bandits, then do the rest of the "The Chanter's Board" quest's objectives to get more rewards, including a magic longsword with an enchantment slot.
