Dragon Age II Hints

Starting Tips

  • 1 of 5: You'll start Act I with a lot of quests to do and a lot of areas to explore. Your first priority should be exploring Kirkwall, both the daytime and nighttime versions.
  • 2 of 5: Below are tours of Kirkwall's daytime areas that include everything of interest in them. You can either follow them through to make sure you get everything, or you can go exploring on your own and then check them to see what you missed.
  • 3 of 5: That's a lot of exploring, and it's just during the day. You can use the world maps to travel to Kirkwall at night (the middle symbol near the bottom right corner of the screen) and re-explore all of those regions to find new things.
  • 4 of 5: If you have the "The Exiled Prince" premium content module, get the "Duty" quest so you can explore the large Wounded Coast area for loot without having to wait for a main plot quest to send you there. (Another premium content thing to do soon is the "The Black Emporium" quest.)
  • 5 of 5: When you're done with all that, do the first three main plot quests listed below this tip section, since they're really quick and easy to do. After that, you'll be ready to really get going on this act's essential quests, but don't neglect the many non-essential ones.
