Dragon Age II Hints
Lowtown
1 of 9: Go down the steps to the bazaar, then look all around the central part of it to find four merchant stores and two codex items.
2 of 9: Finish the "The Paragon's Toe" and "Bottled Scar 5:34 Exalted" side quests if you got them in Hightown, then talk to Lady Elegant near the stairs to the exit. That'll open up a station you can use to order potions that you have recipes for if you also have the resources and the money. You get the Elfroot Potion recipe as a freebie, though note that you won't be able to order any until you find some elfroot.
3 of 9: Look north of the bazaar's central part to find a lootable crate and the door to Lirene's Fereldan Imports.
4 of 9: Loot the barrel that's near the SE corner of the bazaar area, then go up the stairs on the east side of the bazaar to get to the Hanged Man pub's entrance.
5 of 9: Go south from the pub to the Foundry District, where you'll find some lootable rubble and an armor stand.
6 of 9: Go NE and then east from the armor stand to find some spindleweed that you can take. It's one of the resources you need to make certain types of potions at Lady Elegant's potion-ordering station.
7 of 9: Go to the Residential District area north of the pub and look along its west side for a crate to loot, then go up the SE stairs and enter Gamlen's house to finish the "A New Home?" main plot quest.
8 of 9: After thoroughly exploring the house, go back outside and head east and north to reach the Elven Alienage. Just entering the area gets you a codex entry.
9 of 9: Go to the south end of the alienage to find a codex item, then check along the east side for a crate to loot. For more codex entries, examine the huge tree in the center of the alienage, then look for a codex item on the ground on its north side.
