Dragon Age II Hints

Find either Athenril or Meeran in the Gallows Courtyard. Either might be ....

  • 1 of 3: Look on the small platform on the west side of the courtyard for a codex-giving item, then check the map to see where the two people you're supposed to talk to are.
  • 2 of 3: Talk to both of them using "investigate" dialogue options if you need help deciding, then either commit to helping Athenril to get the "Get Athenril's coin from Cavril the merchant in the Gallows Courtyard market" objective or Meeran to get the "Lord Friedrich is somewhere in the Gallows Courtyard area. Find and kill him" objective. (Or you can agree to do both tasks, and then decide which one to actually do.)
  • 3 of 3: TIP: To get the most money out of the situation, start on Athenril's task and extort 2 gold from Merchant Cavril, then start on Meeran's task and kill Friedrich. If you want to maximize your XP instead, start on Meeran's task and accept a bribe from Friedrich, then start on Athenril's task and say something to Cavril that'll get him to sic his guards on you.
