Fallout: New Vegas Game Add-Ons (DLC) Hints

Find the Laser Detonator.

  • 1 of 8: Go down the path and through the wrecked fence to reach the road, then turn left (NE).
  • 2 of 8: Move along the road to discover the Hopeville Missile Base -- West Entrance location, then turn left and go to the right of a tire barricade and a truck to discover the Hopeville Missile Base Headquarters location.
  • 3 of 8: You'll probably be under fire from at least one "marked man" ghoul, so take cover and help ED-E shoot him/them down. After that, you might want to look around the headquarters area for the Guns and Energy Weapons skill books, plus a destroyed eyebot and a commissary terminal.
  • 4 of 8: When you're done with that, go over to the locked fence gate that's on the right side of the HQ building.
  • 5 of 8: Past the locked gate, go up the rubble "ramp" next to the wrecked cars to get on the second floor of a ruined building. Go to the other end of the building and try to shoot down the marked man you can see on the second floor of the building ahead.
  • 6 of 8: There's another marked man in that building who has a powerful rocket launcher called Red Glare. He won't appear until you get down to the ground in an exposed position.
  • 7 of 8: After he's down, use the ramp-like rubble to get up to his perch on the roof. Loot him to get a Red Glare rocket launcher, then look for another one leaning against some crates.
  • 8 of 8: To the left of it is a broken-open crate with the laser detonator that you're after, plus some more rocket ammo. Be warned that picking up the laser detonator will cause several marked man ghouls to converge on your location.
