Fallout: New Vegas Hints

Keep an eye on sniper locations.

  • 1 of 6: You'll only have this objective if you did the "(Optional) Investigate the area for clues" objective, but you can foil the sniper even if you don't.
  • 2 of 6: Right after you get the "Protect President Kimball" objective, run north along the dam to reach the nearest guard tower.
  • 3 of 6: You can't use its doors, but you can climb up the ladder on its side to reach its rooftop. That's where the sniper will appear.
  • 4 of 6: Equip a powerful weapon like a plasma rifle and stand in the eastern corner while facing west.
  • 5 of 6: Before long, another NCR ranger will appear and shoot down the first one. Right after he does, go into V.A.T.S. mode and blast him in the head.
  • 6 of 6: After he's dead, use the radio on the table to report him to Ranger Grant, then wait for the quest to end successfully.
