Fallout: New Vegas Hints

Post-Quest Notes

  • 1 of 7: Whether you killed Benny or let him escape, the Presidential Suite is now yours. That means you can sleep in its bed anytime to get the Well Rested XP bonus, which lasts 12 game hours.
  • 2 of 7: However, you may prefer to use the Presidential Suite in the Lucky 38 Casino as your main base. It has a terminal you can use to buy upgrades for the suite, including a workbench, a Sunset Sarsaparilla vending machine, and more containers to store stuff in.
  • 3 of 7: The next time you leave the casino, you'll be approached by two men who talk to you about possible faction alliances. (If just one man shows up, enter and exit the Lucky 38 Casino to get the other one.)
  • 4 of 7: If you're wanting to make some fast and easy caps to buy expensive stuff with, buy 200 casino chips and play blackjack in each of the New Vegas Strip's three casinos (not counting the Lucky 38), betting the max of 200 chips each time. Even with the annoying "wait a minute after quickrestoring" thing, you can pretty easily win the limit in each casino by quicksaving after every win and quickrestoring after every loss. You can do the same thing in the Atomic Wrangler casino in Freeside's second section, plus the Vikki and Vance Casino in Primm after finishing its "My Kind Of Town" faction quest.
  • 5 of 7: When you're ready to proceed with the main quests, you'll need to decide which faction you want to ally with (or go independent by allying with no one), and then start on its quests.
  • 6 of 7: You're not committed to any one faction right away, so you can "shop around" for awhile and do quests from all four sets if you want to. Just be sure not to do anything that'll gain you infamy with a faction that you may want to solidify an alliance with later.
  • 7 of 7: NOTE: If you let Benny escape, you'll need to work on the quests for allying with Caesar's Legion until you catch up with him and get the platinum chip.
