Fallout 3 Hints
Mason District
1 of 14: This interior region includes the following Zone 9 Map locations: Hubris Comics (16) and Mason District South (17). It has exits to two underground metro areas: Falls Church/Mason Dst Metro and Flooded Metro.
2 of 14: This area is inhabited by super mutants, so come heavily armed and with many healing items. The tour starts at the Flooded Metro entrance.
3 of 14: Go up the stairs and onto the street to find several radroaches hanging around clusters of radioactive barrels. After killing them off, go around behind the Flooded Metro stairs to find a small wooden crate with a pack of cigarettes and mentats in it.
4 of 14: SE of the stairs is another small wooden crate next to a big "METRO STATION" sign. It has a motorcycle gas tank and a motorcycle handbrake in it.
5 of 14: Go down the street to where it divides, then stop and see if you can snipe any super mutants in the streets or buildings ahead. After you get all the ones you can from there, look on the left (west) side of the street split for a fire hydrant you can drink from.
6 of 14: Go over the rubble north of that until you reach another fire hydrant, then go north a bit more and snipe any super mutants you can see in the area ahead.
7 of 14: Get as many as you can before going up to the street sign, since there are several back there, one of which has a minigun. Feel free to retreat as far as you have to in order to survive this battle.
8 of 14: When you've gotten them all, enter the building near the street sign and go up the stairs to find a room with a sniper rifle next to a skeleton, three ammo boxes on the floor, and the following items on a table: 10mm pistol, Small Guns skill book, stimpak, and two frag grenades.
9 of 14: Go back downstairs and exit the building, then check the side area a bit east of it to find several items on tables and shelves, including Nuka-Cola, jet, psycho, vodka, and buffout. There's also a pack of cigarettes and some mentats in a small wooden crate behind the shelves.
10 of 14: Head east to a fire hydrant, then look NE to see a super mutant standing near a large vehicle. Either shoot the mutant to death, or shoot the vehicle to blow it and the mutant up.
11 of 14: Go farther east to find a mail dropbox near a STOP sign, then explore the large area to the north.
12 of 14: From the above-mentioned mail dropbox and STOP sign, go south down the street until you come to an intersection. Look for a knocked-over mail dropbox near some rubble-clogged stairs, then investigate the large ruined building to the south.
13 of 14: Enter the building and go up its stairs, then move along on the second floor until you come to two ammo boxes. Continue along until you come to a spot with two more ammo boxes and two Chinese assault rifles.
14 of 14: All that's left after that is a mail dropbox on the sidewalk a bit east of the building.
