Fallout 3 Hints
Fawkes
1 of 7: Fawkes is a powerful super mutant who's being held captive by other super mutants in Vault 87 (location 7 on the Zone 4 Map).
2 of 7: You won't be able to free him until you're working on the third set of Main Quests.
3 of 7: He'll run off after he helps you get the item you're after in Vault 87, but you'll meet up with him again after you escape from Raven Rock.
4 of 7: At that point, he can become a follower if your karma is high enough.
5 of 7: He has 500 hit points, a Gatling laser, and is very good with any type of weapon. When you fire him, he goes to the large prehistoric display room in the Entrance area in the Museum of History (location 44 on the Zone 9 Map).
6 of 7: NOTES: Even though Fawkes is humanoid, he can't wear any armor or helmet items. (But that's okay, since his natural damage resistance is 100.) If you install the Broken Steel add-on game, he'll be modified to have a *whole* lot more than 500 hit points, making him even tougher to kill.
7 of 7: TIP: Fawkes is *the* ultimate follower, with his unlimited-ammo Gatling laser and his huge hit point and damage resistance values. You might want to use another follower to help you quickly play through the main quests until Fawkes is available, then use the Easy Ways to Raise Karma (if necessary) so he'll join you.
