Gothic 3 Hints
How can I do that effectively?
of 9: See the Stealing Tips to learn how to handle the fact that guards usually know when you've stolen something.
of 9: The same sort of thing applies for when you've killed someone.
of 9: Start off by stealing something and using the city's teleporter stone to get to one of the gate guards. (Or if stealing something is a problem for some reason, you can try attacking an orc to start things off if you don't have the city's liberation mission on you.)
of 9: After choosing the "provoke" option to make sure the guard turns hostile, lead him off so that you can fight him out of sight of everyone else, but don't leave him alive like the stealing tips say to -- deliver a killing blow to finish him off.
of 9: Then return to the city gate and approach the nearest guard to get him to accuse you regarding the other guard's death.
of 9: If that's the first murder you've committed in that city, you'll probably get off without the possibility of a fight, so you'll have to repeat the process of stealing something and then provoking a gate guard to turn him hostile.
of 9: Lead him off out of sight and kill him, then go find the nearest guard inside the city.
of 9: Repeat until the city is greatly depopulated, then get the liberation mission if you haven't already and start hacking on whoever's left.
of 9: If you killed off a lot of orcs and mercenaries earlier, they should flee as soon as you kill just one or a few of them.
