Where do I find a person with retinal access to the surface?

1 of 5: There are three scientists trapped in a room somewhere in the complex.
2 of 5: They are trapped behind some very dangerous machinery.
3 of 5: More specifically, some sort of rotating machine that has two arms and some sharp spurs on the end of each arm.

The door into the rotating machine room is locked. There is no way in through conventional means. You will have to find another way in.
