1 of 2: It might be easier to fight the manhack if you retreated out of the vent shaft the instant you hear it coming. That way you'll have more room to maneuver while fighting it.
2 of 2: You could put this secret area off until you get an SMG. That would make shooting the manhack quick and easy!
