Half-Life 2 Hints
Secret Area #1
1 of 7: On the little white ledge with the ladder top, crouch-walk carefully onto the large brown pipe that's nearby.
2 of 7: Find the cracked-looking grating to the left of the red light and break it with the crowbar.
3 of 7: Crouch-walk into the vent shaft and make your way along it, ready for a single manhack to appear and attack.
4 of 7: At the other end of the vent shaft is another bashable grating that leads to a room with several supply crates that you can break open for goodies.
5 of 7: Have the pistol ready when you go back through the vent shaft, since a cop will appear near the top of the ladder when you emerge.
6 of 7: TIP: Quickly shoot the explosive barrel next to the cop to finish him off.
7 of 7: TIP: If you save a supply crate, you can carry it through the vent shaft and use it to help you jump back up to the area that the last manhack attack happened in. The manhacks and cops will be gone, and you can go pick up any supplies you left behind. (Note that a barrel will work if the supply crates are all busted, but it can be a pain to carry a barrel up a ladder.)
