What is that thing on the underside of a bridge that just ate a bird?
1 of 6: Perhaps it's an alien cat.
2 of 6: Actually, it's a Barnacle, one of the more peculiar aliens from the original Half-Life.
3 of 6: The easiest thing to do in this case is to just run past the barnacle while it's busy chewing up the bird it just caught.
4 of 6: If you want to kill it for being so freaky, ready the crowbar and wait until the barnacle drops its tongue down again.
5 of 6: Let it grab you, then look up and whack it with the crowbar when you get close to its mouth.
6 of 6: You won't fall far enough to get hurt this time, but watch out for possible falling damage in other areas where barnacles are on higher ceilings (where you'll want to either shoot or avoid them).
