Half-Life 2 Hints

Section 2: Various Cop Ambushes (d1_canals_01a)

  • 1 of 12: Move carefully past the fire without being scorched to get to another wooden board barricade.
  • 2 of 12: Whack on this barricade with your crowbar until the large oil tanker on top of the boards falls a bit lower and destroys the rest of the boards for you.
  • 3 of 12: Move through the gap and crouch-walk past another fire to get to where you can spot a familiar old Half-Life creature just ahead.
  • 4 of 12: After weaving around some large piles of junk, you'll reach the site of the first major cop ambush.
  • 5 of 12: The cement ledge you're on ends at a spot past the rubble with the blue van in it, allowing you to continue onwards through a barnacle-infested tunnel.
  • 6 of 12: When you emerge into open air again, the APC from earlier will drive by, but fortunately won't see you.
  • 7 of 12: As you look around, a woman hiding in a large pipe segment will direct your attention to a concrete tunnel whose covering is torn open.
  • 8 of 12: Go down that tunnel to find a small room with two cops standing on a grating above you.
  • 9 of 12: As soon as you exit the pipe area that ambush happened in, you'll emerge in an outdoor area with another ambush!
  • 10 of 12: Climb up the huge mound of sludge past the bridge to find that there's a crawlspace you could crawl through if it weren't blocked by barrels.
  • 11 of 12: Either push the barrels forward or pick them up and throw them out of the way so that you can enter the tunnel.
  • 12 of 12: After the barnacles are all dead, pick up the supplies near them and then exit to the big canal area where the final cop ambush of this chapter section happens.
