Half-Life 2 Hints
This looks like another cop ambush. How do I handle it?
of 12: Start by trying to eliminate the cops in charge of the ambush.
of 12: They won't see you at first, and you can shoot up at them, but they'll probably run out of sight before you can kill either one.
of 12: TIP: You might could kill one of them if you use the pistol's secret Secondary Fire trick -- see the 9mm Pistol weapon info for details.
of 12: Use the concrete ledges to get up to the next tunnel, which leads to the room where the cops ambush you with some falling explosive barrels.
of 12: You could try quickly shooting the barrels before they drop down to where they could hurt you.
of 12: But that won't work. And the exit tunnel has a grate over it that you can't get through.
of 12: You'll have to wait until after all the barrels explode to get away, since they destroy the grate over the exit tunnel.
of 12: Look around. You're in a room with fairly deep water.
of 12: Do you remember using water to survive a nasty explosion in the original Half-Life?
of 12: When you see the flaming barrel start to fall, immediately dive down to the bottom of the water and stay there until *all* of the barrels have exploded (they don't all at once).
of 12: Now you can surface and make for the exit.
of 12: The cop(s) above will be shooting at you, but you'll probably sustain fewer injuries by beating a hasty retreat rather than staying and fighting.
