Half-Life 2 Hints
Section 8: Snipers and Soldiers (d1_town_05)
1 of 10: When you emerge outside near some train tracks, you'll hear the hiss of a poison headcrab nearby. Turn around to find it up on a lambda-marked ledge directly above the tunnel you just came out of.
2 of 10: The train track is blocked to the left (though you can go that way to get a health kit), so try the other direction.
3 of 10: After killing a fast zombie that runs up and attacks, move along until you come to a spot where a sniper is firing at zombies from a covered bridge overhead.
4 of 10: Make your way around train cars and grab supplies until you come to a red train car that's open in the middle. Hang back at first, since there are Combine soldiers and zombies on the other side.
5 of 10: The next open red train car has a spare pulse rifle or two plus a supply crate with pulse rifle ammo in it. Be sure to get all of that, then squeeze carefully out the side door so as not to get burned by the fire. (Or go back out the other end and climb over the car using a ladder.)
6 of 10: As you approach a parking lot and building over to the left, a Combine soldier will appear on the tracks ahead of you, and two more will appear in the parking lot.
8 of 10: As you enter the parking lot, two soldiers will come out of the building's open doorway. Deal with them, then go inside and help the resistance guys kill off the rest of the soldiers.
9 of 10: When the battle's over, approach the resistance guys in the back of the warehouse to get one named Leon to greet you and lead you into the main hideout area.
10 of 10: After the communication with Alyx is over, search around the room for supplies before going out the door Leon opened for you and moving on to Chapter 7: Highway 17.
