The Elder Scrolls IV: Knights of the Nine Hints

Thieves Den

  • 1 of 13: After this module is installed, you'll get a "Dunbarrow Cove" quest entry when you load a saved game or start a new game and reach the point where the emperor is killed.
  • 2 of 13: You may have found a small cave called Smuggler's Cave just south of Castle Anvil while playing without this mod.
  • 3 of 13: It had a tough lock on its door, and the only contents of note were a nirnroot plant and a Security skill book. Now there's more!
  • 4 of 13: Fast-travel to the new Dunbarrow Cove location on the world map and then head a bit NW to find the cave door (which is thankfully unlocked).
  • 5 of 13: Grab the nirnroot and the skill book if you haven't already, then find the tunnel that leads NE from down in the water.
  • 6 of 13: Go through the door to Dunbarrow Cove and start looking around.
  • 7 of 13: You'll need to "kill" all of the undead pirates who are clattering around before you can claim the place as your own.
  • 8 of 13: Check the local area map for quest markers if you need help finding any of them.
  • 9 of 13: After you clear out the main cove area, enter the Captain's Quarters and fight the powerful pirate captain, using the above combat tip if you need to.
  • 10 of 13: Once all of the pirate skeletons are dead, you'll get a journal entry pointing you to Dahlia Rackham of the Clarabella.
  • 11 of 13: The Sea Tub Clarabella is docked at the Anvil docks, so go over there and board the ship.
  • 12 of 13: You'll find Rackham behind the wooden door that's just inside the ship.
  • 13 of 13: Talk to her about Dunbarrow Cove upgrades and choose what you'd like to have done.
