The Elder Scrolls IV: Knights of the Nine Hints
Pilgrimage
of 8: Keep asking people about the Anvil Chapel attack until one of them mentions a prophet.
of 8: Ask about him until you learn that he's preaching over near the chapel. (Or just go over there and find him without all the talking.)
of 8: Follow your quest arrow to find the prophet either preaching or sleeping (depending on the time of day) in the area to the east of the chapel.
of 8: Talk to him to learn that an ancient Ayleid sorcerer-king named Umaril the Unfeathered has somehow returned to wreak bloody vengeance on the land.
of 8: Volunteer to become the new champion and hunt down the old relics necessary to defeating Umaril again.
of 8: When he asks if you're a worthy knight, humbly say "no." (If you give some other response at first, you'll have to talk to him about "Quest for the Relics" so that he'll ask you again.)
of 8: He'll quest you to visit one wayshrine for each of the Nine Divines to show that you're worthy for these quests.
of 8: Wait through the vision you get after finishing the pilgrimage, then wait a bit more to get a journal entry that starts "The Shrine of the Crusader."
