Mysterious Journey II Hints
I can't find a code for the third door panel.
of 24: There is a code for the third panel that is similar to the first two. However, it is not in the same area.
of 24: Two of the doors must be solved before continuing with the third panel.
of 24: Once the first two panels are solved, another door will open to a new walkway. This walkway contains a clue to opening the third door.
of 24: Notice another crate in this walkway, with another set of symbols.
of 24: However, the format of these symbols is different from the first crate.
of 24: The first symbol in the row does, indeed, match the symbol over the third panel. So we must be on the right track.
of 24: But the rest of the row is clearly not a base-12 number, as in the other two cases.
of 24: What else looks familiar in this set of symbols?
of 24: Of the last three symbols, the first and third actually match the two symbols over the first two door panels!
of 24: So this "code" is apparently telling us that the code for the third panel can be derived from the codes for the first two doors -- i.e., that there is a relationship between the codes for the first two doors, and the code for the third door.
of 24: What else is do you see in the row of symbols?
of 24: There is another symbol -- between the two symbols representing the first two panels. (It looks like a dot with an arch over it -- or, for those musically inclined, a "hold" symbol, or formata.)
of 24: Have you seen this symbol anywhere else recently?
of 24: There is a small panel across from the circular decoder. Have you looked at it to see what you can learn about it?
of 24: It is actually a calculator.
of 24: Remember the four buttons at the bottom of the calculator?
of 24: They must represent four arithmetic operators.
