The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Hints
Telvanni Hortator
1 of 11: To become Hortator of a Great House, you have to get every councilor of that house to agree to vote for you. For Telvanni, you need votes from:
Aryon in his chambers at Tel Vos in the Tel Mora region Dratha in Tel Mora's Upper Tower Therana in her chamber in Tel Branora's Upper Tower Neloth in Tel Naga's Upper Tower in Sadrith Mora Baladas Demnevanni at Arvs-Drelen in Gnisis Gothren in Tel Aruhn's Upper Tower
2 of 11: Find each councilor and talk to him about "Telvanni Hortator."
3 of 11: Start with Aryon. He'll readily agree to vote for you, hoping to gain from the fact that you're going to have to kill Gothren.
4 of 11: NOTE: If you're Archmagister of House Telvanni, Aryon will immediately proclaim you the Telvanni Hortator and give you the special robe. Otherwise, read on.
5 of 11: Dratha really hates men, so she'll immediately give support to a female character, but not a male one.
6 of 11: This may be a good spot to note that murder and mayhem are SOP in Great House Telvanni, and you can get away with killing any councilor that you can't bribe or admire up high enough to vote for you. Men might want to do that with Dratha, for instance.
7 of 11: Therana is a real nutcase, so choose to amuse her when you get some options. If your Speechcraft skill or her disposition is high enough, you'll succeed and get her vote.
8 of 11: Neloth will vote for you if you can get his disposition up to 70. He's another one to bump off if you're not rich or good at admiring.
9 of 11: As for Baladas, you won't need to talk to him at all unless you're a member of House Telvanni and have completed the quest to make Baladas a councilor. If he is a councilor, talk to him when he has a disposition of 30 or more to get his vote.
10 of 11: Gothren is the stubborn one who will never willingly vote for you. You can kill other councilors and still become Telvanni Hortator, but with this guy it isn't an option -- you have to do it.
